FILM SCREENING OF “HALF THE SKY “ &
PANEL DISCUSSION OF HOW THE LIVES OF
WOMEN IN CHINA AND MALAYSIA HAVE
CHANGED SINCE 1995.

Both the British Malaysian Society (BMS) and Television for the Environment (tve) are celebrating their 40th anniversaries this year. To mark this joint milestone, BMS and tve are holding a panel discussion which will include a screening of the documentary "Half the Sky", made by tve for the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995.

The documentary was directed by the filmmaker Shuyun Sun who will be present at the event.

Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion on women's issues since that date in 1995.

Proceeds fom this event are in aid of BMS Charity & Students Fund and TVE.

There will be an option for those interested to stay on for dinner afterwards at their own cost.

Time: 3:00 for 3:30pm to 6:00pm

Dress Code: National costume or smart casual.

3:00pm - 3:30pm Arrival of guests

3:30pm  Welcome and Instructions

                Followed by Screening of the documentary film "Half the Sky" (50 minutes)

                Break of 20 Minutes

                Panel Discussion and Q&A

6:00pm   End of session.

Dinner in the Cempaka Restaurant afterwards (optional)

Following the event, there is the opportunity, for those that wish, to stay for dinner in the Cempaka Restaurant.

Individuals to pay for food and drinks they order.
