Panel discussion at the Inner Temple

Celebrating 40 years of Legal & Other Educational Links between the U.K. and Malaysia

Join the British Malaysian Society (BMS) for an engaging panel discussion at the Inner Temple on the Legal and Other Educational links between the UK and Malaysia. This includes a Welcome speech by the honourable Mr Justice Michael Soole, Treasurer of the Inner Temple, with a Reception to follow. Short video clip messages, including some from emminent individuals in Malaysia, will also be played.

Date: Monday 14 October, 2024

Time: 6:00pm for 6:20pm to 8:45pm

Venue: Lecture Theatre at the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, London EC4Y 7HL

Nearest tube stations: Temple, Blackfriars, Chancery Lane.

Dresscode: Business attire.

The event includes a networking reception after the formal part and moderated panel discussion.

Panel Members

Sarah Clarke KC, was in the first cohort going out to Malaysia to do advocacy training around 2010 - 2011.

The Honourable Mr Justice Eason Rajah, the first Malaysian to be appointed a High Court Judge in the UK, in 2023.

Karl King Yong, Consultant Gastroenterologist at St Mary ‘s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Associate Professor Dr Mohd Hanafi Ahmad Damanhuri, the Education Director at the Malaysian High Commission in the UK.

Professor Kanes Rajah is Chair of the BMS Education Group, President of Rise Global UK and will act as moderator for the panel discussion.

    Welcome to the Inner Temple by the Treasurer of the Inner Temple, the Honourable Mr Justice Michael Soole.

6:30pm Panel Discussion followed by Q&A.

7:45pm  Reception and Networking.

8:45pm  End of Event.
